Outward Bound Wilderness Scholarships are based on financial need, student motivation*, and the potential to excel on a wilderness course. Outward Bound Wilderness holds its scholarship applicants to a very high standard. We expect you to approach this experience with a high level of motivation, give it your all and complete your course successfully. The average scholarship award is 30% of the course tuition (if you qualify) and awards typically do not exceed 50% of the course tuition. Scholarship Applicant Deadlines: Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Submitting an application 2-3 months before the course start date increases the likelihood of receiving a scholarship. We do not accept scholarship applications within 3 weeks of the course start date. All scholarship applications are due within 48 hours of your initial Outward Bound Wilderness course application request.
Step 2: Read the Scholarship Policies page thoroughly.
Step 4: Submit your complete Scholarship Application Packet within 48 hours of applying.
Failure to submit your scholarship application within the allotted timeframe will result in a forfeiture of your spot on course.
Your application fee is refundable only if you do not receive as much scholarship support as you requested AND you formally decline your award offer prior to the assigned due date.
