Marmot, an outdoor product company for over thirty years, and Outward Bound Wilderness have established a scholarship program for outstanding students who have demonstrated leadership potential and are in need of financial assistance. This is a full-tuition scholarship to attend a 50-day Summer Wilderness Semester. One deserving student is awarded this scholarship each year and is outfitted for the course in Marmot outerwear.
The Marmot Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior (age 17+) or college/university student (maximum age of 23) who has demonstrated leadership potential and is in need of financial assistance. Examples of leadership experience may include: student government, community service, or other activities where the student has demonstrated a determination for excellence. Former Outward Bound scholarship recipients are not eligible.
Logistics: The Marmot Leadership Scholarship recipient is responsible for the $100 application fee, $100 transport fee, personal transportation, boots and some personal clothing required for course. The scholarship recipient is required to keep a journal on course which will be posted periodically on the Outward Bound website. In addition, the recipient may be featured in Outward Bound and Marmot print and online publications.

Step 2: Submit the complete Marmot Leadership Scholarship Application prior to the close of business on April 16, 2008.Applications may be submitted anytime prior to the deadline, but will not be reviewed until April 17, 2008. The Marmot Scholar will be announced and all other applicants will be contacted by May 1, 2008.

A $100 application fee, which is not processed until you accept your scholarship award.
At least one letter of recommendation from someone who can attest to your leadership qualities, experience and/or potential.
A copy of your (or your parents) most recent 1040 Federal Tax Form including all schedules (We do not accept W-2 Wage and Tax Statements. If the student is under 21 or not self-supporting, income information from both parents is required).
