Health & Social Services programs are designed to address the
needs of private-for-profit, not-for-profit, public organizations,
and individuals with special needs or interests. These programs
use wilderness environments, adventure and risk to help individuals
build the confidence, esteem and energy conducive to creating and
fostering constructive patterns of human relations built on trust,
cooperation, communication and understanding.
These programs also assist individuals in choosing healthier patterns
of living. Participants have utilized programs for personal development,
to improve specific skills, to help overcome specific problems and
to develop group cohesion. Courses are designed to address the needs
of individuals or groups in transition, moving from a place of personal
(or group) disequilibrium, to a place of enhanced quality of functioning.
Our goal is to aid participants in developing the tools necessary
to build self-confidence, encourage self-discovery and promote recovery.
Participants experientially confront the issues that keep them from
achieving their highest aspirations. Course experiences act as "mirrors"
of individual's lives, metaphorically providing a testing ground
for how they respond to the stresses and choices that they face
daily.
Health & Social Services Programs can be run at a base camp
facility with participants sleeping in dorms or tents or as a mobile
course with participants camping out as they travel the backcountry.
