If you don’t have a specific course in mind, call us for
assistance in selecting a course that is right for you or use the
online course finder. Our Admissions Advisors take the time to discuss
course details with you and ensure that you have all the information
you need. If you have a course selected, begin the enrollment process
by using one of the methods below.
There are two ways in which you can begin the enrollment
process.
1. You can fully enroll by calling 866-467-7651
between the hours of 8am and 5pm Mountain Time. One of our helpful
admissions advisors will guide you through the enrollment. This
will take 10 to 15 minutes.
2. You can begin the process by filling out the online
enrollment form. We’ll then contact you within 48 hours after
receiving the form complete the enrollment. If you fill
out the form online, an Outward Bound Admissions Advisor will
contact you to complete your medical prescreen and apply the deposit
to a MasterCard or Visa. These two steps need to be completed before
your spot on a course is secure.

let another day go by! Since many courses fill early, we encourage
you to begin the enrollment process as soon as possible.
Enrollment Costs
What does the tuition cover? How much
is the tuition for a course?
The tuition covers all food, instruction, land use permits, and
most of the equipment, including packs, sleeping bags and technical
gear. The tuition for a specific course depends upon the length,
the location and the activities of the course.
To secure your spot on a course, a $400 deposit ($600 for
semester, instructor and international courses) will be required.
If you enroll fewer than 60 days before course start, full tuition
and fees are required to secure your spot on a course.
Are there other costs to be considered
before enrolling?
Students may need to buy some gear, such as footwear and personal
clothing, and will be responsible for the costs of a physical exam
(if required) and travel to and from the course meeting site.
Outward Bound charges a non-refundable $100 application fee
at the time of enrollment. If you have to cancel your application
at any time prior to the course, this fee will be retained (and
perhaps a percentage of your tuition as well, depending on the amount
of notice you provide Outward Bound). Your application fee is refundable
only if you are wait-listed and a space does not open for you, we
cancel your course, or you apply for and do not receive the scholarship

Depending on the course, there may also be a $100 transportation
fee that covers your transportation from the meeting point to
the actual course start.
What Happens Next?
After you fully complete your enrollment, we will mail or email
your welcome packet to you. The detailed pre-course materials will
contain important questionnaires and forms that you will need to
return to Outward Bound promptly. Your admission is pending until
your medical form has been reviewed and approved, and all necessary
forms have been signed and returned.
