Oregon River Rafting

This course is either 5 or 7 days and takes place on either the Rogue or the Lower Salmon River in Oregon.

Oregon’s rivers provide scenery, rapids, wildlife, and history. The Rogue and Lower Salmon rivers wind through canyons and offer class II, III, and IV rapids. Common wildlife around the river includes osprey, bald eagles, deer, bighorn sheep, rattlesnakes, and waterfowl such as mergansers and mallard. The region has a colorful human history, and a railroad borders much of the length of the Lower Deschutes.

The Outward Bound Difference
Reasonably pushing your limits and working as a team is all part of your Outward Bound experience. Successful completion of your course demands mastery of skills, trust, fitness, confidence, tenacity, leadership, initiative and compassion. The promotion of these qualities, and the discovery of what’s in you, is the purpose of Outward Bound.

Course Description
Travel the Rogue or Salmon rivers on this unique journey with other adults. The Rogue River cuts through the unique geological mass in southwestern Oregon where the mountains were long ago shoved northward from their original location in California.  The trip allows you to explore the many historical and cultural sites that the area has to offer, from Chinese Miners houses to Native American pictographs. On the course you will focus on the river and its many challenges, including a solo and a short hike to a natural waterslide.
